The Guntawang Estate has a frontage of five miles to the Cudgegong River – of soil acknowledged to be unsurpassed for the richness of its pasturage in Australia.

Guntawang is able to draw  irrigation water from the Cudgegong River under licence, the reliability of which is evidenced by the 100% availability maintained during the severe drought in the first decade of this century.

In addition, the alluvial river flats contain irrigation wells rated to supply in excess of 2 megalitres per day, again a rate that was maintained in severe drought conditions.

Approximately 300 acres of the Guntawang river flat paddocks are  set up for irrigation, and high quality lucerne hay is produced on farm.
